If you’re after peace and tranquility, just a 2 minute walk from the world famous Minack Theatre (cornwall’s there under the stars) and the beautiful beaches of Porthcurno and Porthchapel then that’s what you’ll find in these two traditional Cornish Alms cottages united many years ago to create one idyllic 3 double bedroom Cornish cottage.
Beach House Story
For many years a private retreat from the rigours of London life, the owners now share this very special place with others and give you the chance to experience the restorative powers of life in this wonderful part of Cornwall, which is so close to some of the best beaches in the world.
This cottage combines rustic with comfort; artistic with romantic; traditional with modern convenience. Upstairs, behind the thick granite walls are three simply decorated, but supremely comfortable double bedrooms and a charming bathroom with views towards Land’s End and open farm and moorland. Downstairs is a well equipped large country kitchen and dining with a huge wood-burning stove and the cosy snug with it’s own large wood-burner. The snug also has a TV and DVD player in case you just can’t resist finding out what the rest of the world is up to.
There are amazing walks straight from your door down to a beautiful locals beach called Porthchapel. The idyllic unspoilt Cornish fishing cove of Porthgwarra (which featured in the 2016 BBC version of Poldark) is a short walk away. From Porthgwarra (perhaps stopping for a cup of tea and a pasty at the little cafe there) you can walk up to Gwennap Head which is a world famous spot for seaspotting and bird watching. It is also a great place to spot the famous Cornish Chough who breed on the cliffs at Porthgwarra.
Beyond Gwennap Head and the Coastwatch station lies Lands End which is a famous tourist attraction – if you go remember to get your photograph taken by the famous signpost. Beyond Lands End lies the famous surf beaches of Sennen and Gwenvor. There is also a good surf school at Sennen and a fantastic restaurant with a deck overlooking the beautiful beach. It is perfect for a sundowner as it faces due West so th sunsets are sublime.
The Beach House also has superfast fibre broadband which means that movies and music can be streamed for family film nights round the woodburner in the comfortable sitting room with it’s new Habitat sofa’s.
We also supply a land line and a comprehensive guide to the are of West Cornwall that the locals call West Penwith.
The feedback that we have had from the Beach House tells us that our guests love the house and the location and appreciate the tranquility and the close proximity to the Minack theatre, Porthcurno beach and all the amazing walks and wildlife they encounter.
