Exploring the Area: A Cornish Paradise

You'll have the opportunity to go on some magnificent walks straight from the door through some of the most breath-taking landscapes and beaches in the World. The Beach Penthouse is in a great location within minutes of the Southwest Coast Path, Porthcurno Beach, Porth Chapel Beach, and the famous Minack Theatre.

The Minack Theatre:

Nestled on the rugged cliffs overlooking the turquoise waters of Porthcurno Bay, the Minack Theatre is nothing short of an architectural marvel and a cultural gem. Carved into the granite cliffs by the visionary Rowena Cade in the 1930s, this open-air theatre offers a setting that rivals even the most dramatic of stage designs. The backdrop is none other than the vast Atlantic Ocean, providing a breathtaking canvas for performances.

Throughout the summer months, the Minack Theatre hosts a diverse array of plays, musicals, and concerts, making it a hub for cultural enthusiasts and lovers of the performing arts. The experience of watching a performance here, with the sound of crashing waves in the background and the sun setting over the horizon, is nothing short of magical.

Porthgwarra: This unspoilt fishing cove is a short hike from The Beach Penthouse and has a great little beach and a cafe. It's known for its stunning rock formations, crystal-clear waters, and a delightful tunnel through the cliffside that leads to the beach. Birdwatchers will appreciate the opportunity to spot a variety of seabirds.

Logan's Rock: Located within walking distance from Porthcurno Beach, Logan's Rock is a legendary granite boulder with a unique claim to fame and sits above one of the World’s best beaches.

South West Coast Path: For outdoor enthusiasts, the South West Coast Path beckons with its rugged beauty and numerous hiking opportunities. The path runs the whole length of the coast and this stretch is one of the most stunning sections, with sheer granite cliffs and the Ocean below you. Whether you're interested in a leisurely stroll or a challenging hike, this trail offers a close encounter with the region's natural splendour.

Porthcurno Beach: Adjacent to the Minack Theatre lies the stunning Porthcurno Beach, a crescent of soft, golden sand flanked by cliffs and lapped by the crystal-clear waters of the Atlantic. The beach's sheltered location and inviting waters make it a popular destination for sunbathers, swimmers, and families. The juxtaposition of soft sand and dramatic cliffs creates a picturesque landscape that is equally inviting for relaxation and exploration.

Porthcurno Beach is not only a haven for beachgoers but also a historic site. It was the very location where the first undersea telegraph cables connected the United Kingdom to the rest of the world, marking a significant milestone in global communication.

Land's End: The westernmost point of mainland Britain, Land's End is a short drive away and offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Explore the rugged cliffs, visit the visitor centre, and take in the raw beauty of the Cornish coastline.

St. Levan Church:

St. Levan Church, located near the stunning Porthcurno Beach, is a beautiful and historic place of worship that adds to the cultural richness of the area. The church is dedicated to St. Levan, a legendary Cornish saint, and it has stood for centuries amidst the tranquil and idyllic surroundings of Cornwall.

Visiting St. Levan Church offers a glimpse into the region's deep history and spiritual heritage. The churchyard is a serene spot for contemplation, and its ancient stones and architecture create a sense of timelessness. The church's atmosphere and the natural beauty of the nearby coast combine to make it a place of both spiritual reflection and connection to the scenic wonders of the Cornish landscape.

Sennen Beach: Located near Land's End, Sennen Beach is a wide, sandy expanse that attracts surfers and sun-seekers alike. The rolling waves offer excellent surfing opportunities, and there are some great bars and shops there too..
